Conwy Karate Club is a traditional Karate school which has been established for 20 years. Set in the heart of Conwy.
We place great emphasis on the traditional values and philosophy of Karate.
Respect ~ Discipline ~ Loyalty
Character ~ Effort ~ Behaviour
The Style of Karate-do taught at the club is Yamada-Ha Shito-Ryu Shukokai Karate-do, with roots in Japan. The club is a proud member of the Yamada-Ha Shito-Ryu Shukokai Karate-do UK and World Unions.
Our aim is to teach authentic Karate in a family friendly, traditional club, which promotes the values and philosophy of karate. We teach in an enjoyable but discipline focused class, which promotes hard work and by extension, you will also improve your fitness, self-confidence, focus and discipline, while learning a traditional form of karate, which includes traditional Karate techniques, practical self-defence techniques and modern competitive kata and fighting skills.
We believe that Karate should be accessible to everyone, as such, we accept students from the age of 6 years old with no upper age limit. Male/Female, beginners or those with a previous Martial Arts background are welcome.
We aim to keep karate affordable, by offering low monthly rates with no contracts or direct debits and generous family discounts. Our rates have not changed in the last 10 years. We recommend twice weekly training to ensure steady progression at a good standard.
The club hold regular gradings, to allow the student the opportunity to progress through the grades. Dan gradings are held twice annually and students that have trained hard and meet the criteria laid out in the Syllabus, are invited to grade when the time is right. We also encourage students to participate in competition, if the student has a flare and an interest in competing.
...is to empower its students with the physical, mental and emotional skills they need to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Through disciplined karate training, we aim to foster confidence, self-discipline, resilience and respect for our members.
By promoting a positive and supporting environment, we strive to create a community where individuals, both young and old, can develop lifelong values, build lasting friendships and achieve personal growth.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire and equip the next generation with the tools they need to become successful, well-rounded individuals who can make a positive impact in the world.
